We know that drinking is not the best thing for our health, with cocktails in particular garnering a lot of bad press for being very high in yucky, refined sugar. However, we think life is tough enough without giving up one of life’s greatest pleasures (alcohol) and that any excuse is a good excuse to let your hair down, whether it’s celebrating the start of a new week (Monday), making it past Monday (Tuesday), celebrating successfully reaching the middle of the week (Wednesday), the pre-weekend (Thursday) or the weekend. In the spirit of maintaining a balance of healthy and less healthy, we’ve tried and tested different alcohols with our cold pressed juices to come up with some deliciously fresh cocktails meaning that you can skip all the nasty sugar syrup and flavourings but still give yourself the treat you deserve!
Here are suggestions for our devilishly simple cold pressed cocktails, complete with garnishes..
Carrot and Ginger:
Rub a piece of lime round the rim of 2 tumblers. Mix together 60ml vodka and 1 bottle (300ml) of Daily Dose O’Fresco, then shake well. Pour over ice and garnish with a wheel of lime!
Rub a slice of pear around the rim of 2 tumblers. Mix ¼ tsp cinnamon with 60ml white rum and 1 bottle (300ml) Daily Dose Zenzero, then pour over ice. Garnish with a slice of pear!
Rub a slice of cucumber around the rim of 2 tumblers. Mix 60ml tequila with 1 bottle (300ml) Daily Dose Ananas, then pour over ice. Garnish with a couple of wheels of cucumber!
Muddle 6 slices of cucumber and a handful of basil leaves in a mixing glass. Add 60ml gin and 1 bottle (300ml) Daily Dose Rouge and shake well. Pour over ice and garnish with cucumber!
